SEO for Yahoo
Yahoo is one of the most international of all the search engines. Yahoo! reaches over 237 million unique users in 25 countries
and 13 languages. Other search engines use Yahoo results such as Inktomi, All The Web, AltaVista, and Overture. However,
these other search engines filter the data after receiving it resulting in partial and sometimes varied results.
Sites have been declined by Yahoo where there is not sufficient unique content on the pages submitted. Yet another page
selling the same product might be included in the Yahoo search results. For this reason, Yahoo is probably
one of the hardest search engines to predict.
The main Yahoo Index results are compiled by spidering the web. You can also be included in the results
by participating in the Yahoo Paid Inclusion Program.
Like Google, Yahoo offers a directory. The Yahoo Directory is organized by grouping related websites under subject
categories. Sites are evaluated by Yahoo editors, who visit and evaluate the site. These evaluators then decide
if the site should be included in the directory and where the sites belong.
Sites that are deemed to be SPAM or solely created to sell products are often rejected so you will want to offer unique
content to your visitors if you wish to be included in the directory.
